Raccoon Control |
|
Raccoons in North America range from 10 to 35+ lbs. They are well known for their bushy striped tail and their ‘Bandit like Mask.’ Putting all cute stuff aside... raccoons are wild animals that are wracked with disease. Raccoons can carry up to 13 different kinds of diseases. Most are also infected with fleas, ticks, lice and mites. Children and pets, being smaller and more curious, are at a much higher risk of catching a disease. Raccoons love attics. Attics are warm, dry and pretty much maintenance free. The only real work that a raccoon is faced with when moving into an attic is that of creating an entryway. Normally they accomplish this by tearing off roof vents, destroying plumbing vents, ripping down or pushing soffits out of the way, and by ripping off shingles. No joke – they will actually tear their way straight through the roof. Raccoons love to destroy gardens, wreak havoc on farmer’s crops and (this one being one of their favourites), move into commercial buildings (the free garbage is perfect). One way to prevent raccoons from entering your home is to trim your trees back at least 10 feet from the perimeter. They will still have your downspout to climb but that’s a little more difficult. As of yet (and hopefully never) there are no legal poisons registered in Canada for raccoon control. If you have a problem with Raccoons invading your home, business or property call AWE-STRUCK™. We will work with you to control and solve your Raccoon problem. |
