With fewer trees and more attics, Grey squirrels have learned to adapt well with humans. There is no need for them to find the perfect tree safe away from predators. No need to collect leaves and take all that time placing them perfectly so that they will be sheltered from the harsh winters. It is much easier for Grey Squirrels to move in with you. Normally the destination point is the attic or chimney....one way or another they will be moving in. Getting in is not a problem. Roof vents are the easiest access. Plumbing vents, soffits, wooden fascia boards, are also easy entryways. Coming from the rodent family, squirrels have the ability to chew through almost anything. Their teeth are constantly growing. Once they get inside your home they unleash chaos. Chewing on rafters, beams and electrical wiring. Chewing, chewing, and more chewing. Squirrels also enjoy mating. Many squirrels give birth twice a year - once in the early spring and again around August.
